Greater Lakes Region Children’s Fund finds new home for December Children’s Auction at LRCC

Lakes Region Community College (LRCC) will host the 2026 Children’s Auction Dec. 8-11 at its Laconia campus, bringing together two organizations with deep ties to the Lakes Region and a shared commitment to supporting the community.

The new partnership came together as the Children’s Fund searched for space to host this year’s Auction and connected with LRCC about bringing the four-day event to campus. College leaders welcomed the opportunity and began working with Children’s Fund organizers to prepare for the December event.

“We have a new home for the Children’s Auction” said Jennifer Kelley, executive director of the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Fund. “We are incredibly grateful to President Cate and everyone at Lakes Region Community College for welcoming us and opening their doors to the Children’s Fund. The Auction is truly a community effort, and having LRCC step up to host us is another wonderful example of what can happen when our community comes together for local children and families in need. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to our new home in December.”

LRCC President Patrick Cate said the partnership reflects the college’s own commitment to the community it serves.

“The Greater Lakes Region Children’s Fund is an essential part of the fabric of the Lakes Region, bringing people together around a shared commitment to creating brighter futures for children and families,” Cate said. “LRCC is honored to host the Children’s Auction and proud to open our campus to an organization whose commitment to our community so closely reflects our own.”

The Children’s Auction is one of the Fund’s signature annual events, bringing together volunteers, businesses, donors and community members to raise money for organizations serving local children and families in need.

Over more than four decades, the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Fund has distributed more than $10 million to 150+ local nonprofits. Its mission is to engage the community to financially support local children and families in need.

The move to LRCC will provide a new setting for that tradition while keeping the Auction in the heart of the Lakes Region.
