For the fourth year in a row, the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Fund invites the community to celebrate a unique and heartwarming event: Christmas in July. This special gathering takes place on Thursday, July 9 from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM, offering an evening filled with joy, entertainment, and generosity. The goal is simple yet powerful: to raise funds that support local children and families in need. If you are looking for a memorable summer event that combines festive spirit with meaningful impact, this is the perfect occasion to mark on your calendar.

What to Expect at Christmas in July
This event offers more than just a party. For a ticket price of $67, attendees enjoy a three-hour scenic cruise on the beautiful waters of the Greater Lakes Region. The cruise provides a relaxing backdrop for an evening of connection and celebration. Alongside the stunning views, guests will be treated to a delicious buffet dinner featuring a variety of dishes to satisfy different tastes.
Live entertainment is a highlight of the night with DJ Ghoulay playing music along with dancing, karaoke, and a photo booth. Katie Dobbins will be playin on the upper deck as well. The PowerChords will perform on the boardwalk, bringing energetic and engaging music to the event before you head out on the lake. Their lively tunes set the perfect mood for a summer evening filled with fun and community spirit.
Special Features and Activities
The event includes several engaging activities designed to enhance the experience and encourage participation:
Cash Bar: Guests can enjoy a selection of beverages available for purchase throughout the evening.
Complimentary Wine Tasting: Hermit Woods Winery offers a free wine tasting, allowing attendees to sample some of the region’s finest wines.
Live Broadcasts: Lakes 101.5 FM will broadcast live from the Mount, sharing the event’s excitement with a wider audience.
Festive Characters: Both Santa and the Grinch will be on board, adding a playful and nostalgic touch to the celebration.
These elements combine to create a festive atmosphere that captures the spirit of Christmas, even in the middle of summer.
Supporting Local Children and Families
The Greater Lakes Region Children’s Fund is dedicated to helping children and families facing challenges in the community. Every dollar raised during Christmas in July goes directly to support these efforts. This year, the event includes a silent online auction and a 50/50 raffle, giving attendees additional ways to contribute while enjoying the evening.
A special benefit returns this year for early ticket buyers. For every ticket purchased before June 28, a free ticket will be donated to local children in need. These children will be invited to join the Kids Daytime Cruise on August 5, another event coordinated by the Children’s Fund. This initiative ensures that the joy of the season reaches those who need it most.
Convenience and Extras for Attendees
To make the evening as smooth and enjoyable as possible, the event offers a couple of optional extras:
Pre-purchased Parking: For $10 per car, guests can reserve a parking spot in advance, avoiding the hassle of searching for parking on the day of the event.
Premium Seating and Early Boarding: For an additional $10, attendees can select premium seats on the Mount and board the cruise early, ensuring the best views and a relaxed start to the evening.
These options provide added comfort and convenience, allowing guests to focus on enjoying the event and supporting the cause.
